Renaissance Statue unveiled in Senegal
I just watched some of the ceremony for the unveiling of the Renaissance Statue in Senegal. Wow!!! Bigger than the Statue of Liberty, and it's absolutely beautiful. If you have not seen it, check out this link . The statue was expensive and therefore controversial, but I think that it will be a source of pride for many years to come (decade, even centuries). An amazing accomplishment, and I would like to see it...

Enjoyed the Theater Coalition Communications Working Group
Had a great working group in Garmisch! Got to hear from a lot of people involved in capacity building and coalition building on the African continent. There is so much growing capability these days - it wa s great to get so many key players together to talk about the direction forward. AU Peace Support Operations Center
Today we officially opened the AU Peace Support Operations Center at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa. The ribbon cutting was presided by Ambassador Battle, Mr. Bam and BG Ferrell. This center will be the hub of a continental peace support network which we will be developing in the near future in support of teh African Union.

Africa Endeavor Initial Planning Conference
Wow - what a terrific planning conference we had in Kampala! Our Ugandan hosts really impressed me with their attention to conference detail, the professionalism of their military forces, and their friendly, open and honest people. APAN Training
Well - here I am in APAN training class. Tim Gramp is up here going to town - teaching us all he knows. I like the tool - so simple even I can use it in a basic fashion. However, there are intricacies that need to be further explored to make maximum use of the site. Can't wait for the name change! How about All Partners Access Network? Still APAN!
