  • USPACOM Student Volunteer Internship Program - 2013 Spring/Summer Session

    U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM) is conducting recrutiment for its Spring/ Summer 2013 Student Volunteer Intern Program Session. 

    The purpose of the internship is to offer graduate and upper level undergraduate students exposure to civil careers within the Department of Defense at a combatant command. 

    Historically, interns have focused on civil-military relations, human rights, intelligence, public affairs, information assurance and cyber security. Past applicants have represented premier institutions such as University of California at San Diego, Texas A&M, University of Hawaii, Georgetown, The Fletcher School at Tufts University, etc.

  • SVIP 2012 - 2013 Recruitment Session

    Dear Applicants, 

    USPACOM Student Volunteer Internship Program is currently recruiting bright and skilled students that can complement and enhance the mission of the Command. 

    - Current openings will be advertised on our website under the application materials tab.

    - 2013 spring session applications will be accepted until November 30

    - The 2013 summer recruiting session is currently open from Thursday, 1 November, through Friday, November 30.  Current and future openings for this session will be posted under our application materials tabs.

  • U.S. Pacific Command Winter 2012 & Spring-Summer 2013 SVIP Session

     

    Starting on November 1st 2012, USPACOM will start its official recruiting period for future 2012 and 2013 sessions.

    Positions we are currently recruiting for include: 

    • Allies and Partners Strategic Focus Group 
    • APAN Knowledge Manager
    • APAN Software Development
    • Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies
    • Information Technology
    • JIATF West Chemist
    • Joint Typhoon Warning Center
    • Public Diplomacy
    • Strategy & Architecture Branch
    • Strategic Partnership Division
    • Legislative Affairs

       The students come from varying academic backgrounds and major in IT;  Chemistry with an understanding of chemical synthetics and organics and possible chemical reactions; Information Assurance; East Asian Studies; International Management and Politics; Disaster Management; International Politics and Pacific and International Affairs. 

    As part of their experience they will support sessions aligned with the University of Hawaii and PACOM Partnership and research projects linked to PACOM’s strategic mission

  • There is still time to apply for a Summer 2012 internship with US Pacific Command

    Students interested in joining PACOM for Summer (June or July) 2012 should submit their application packet by January 31st. Open positions can be found on our home page.

  • US PACOM is still recruiting!

    US Pacific Command is still recruiting for the following positions as part of the Student Volunteer Intern Program.

    -          APAN Software Development (2 positions),

    -          APAN Knowledge Manager (3 positions),

    -          Combined Interoperability,

    -          IT Infrastructure and Configuration Management,

    -          HQ Cyber Operational Software Development,

    -          Strategy and Architecture, and

    -          Office of the Science Advisor (Science and Technology).

    This program offers students:

    • Access to subject matter experts on civil-military relations, human rights, public/private cooperation, intelligence, engineering, humanitarian assistance/ disaster relief, international military education and training.
    • Participate in international conferences and seminars
    • Conduct research on various issues facing the region
    • Support DOD interagency coordination goals.

  • U.S. PACOM Fall 2011 Student Volunteer Intern Program Prepares to Launch

    On June 10 2011 USPACOM will publish 12 positions for volunteer internship this upcoming Fall. The positions will benefit students from various backgrounds. While some positions are focused on information technology and security others are tailored for students majoring in international relations, Asian studies or languages and communications.

     

    Interested students are encouraged to read the position descriptions and submit completed application packages by COB June 24th.
