Support a Guest Blogger

Problem

On occasion, you might want to invite a guest blogger to participate in your blog. However, you don't want this blog author to have permission to other blogs in the system.

Solutions

There are two options for solving this problem:

1. Add blog author

The first option is to simply add the person as an author of the blog temporarily. In this case, the user has permissions to access all posts within the given blog.

1. Navigate to Management > Manage blog > Blog Options.
2. In the Authors field, start typing the usernameof the user whom you want to grant access.

3. Once the guest blogger has completed his/her posts, you can remove this author from the Authors list.

2. Use Blog Mirroring

Another solution is to Configure a mirrored blog feed. This enables your blog to aggregate content from another blog and show its posts within your blog. For example, a blog called "Industry News" could add a mirror for a blog called "Guest Blogs."  Posts made to Guest Blogs would be shown in the Industry News blog, but authors of Guest Blogs would not have permission to control content on the Industry News blog.

1. Navigate to Management > Manage blog > Mirrored feeds.
2. Navigate to Control Panel Dashboard > Select a blog to manage > [blog title] > Configure > Mirrored Feeds.
3. Click New mirrored feed.
4. In the panel fill in the feed title, the full feed RSS URL, and select the post author. If you select Anonymous, the blog will show the author from the feed. Otherwise, you will only be able to select a blog owner.
