Welcome to the Joint Fire Support Executive Steering Committee (JFS ESC) public site
The Joint Fire Support Executive Steering Committee (JFS ESC) is a General Officer / Flag Officer / Senior Executive Service (GO/FO/SES) level joint body established to analyze and recommend solutions to joint fire support issues. The JFS ESC consists of the Executive Steering Committee, an O6-level working group (WG) and two action officer working groups: one for joint close air support (JCAS) and one for joint fire support (JFS). The JFS ESC sponsors and conducts a Joint Fires/JCAS Symposium and Curriculum Review annually. Membership in the JFS ESC is by consensus of the principal members, and is contingent on signing one of the memorandums of agreement: joint fires observer (JFO), joint terminal attack controller (JTAC), or forward air controller-airborne (FAC(A)).
