Overview:
RSI will be joined by the Michael Kofman and Dmitry Gorenburg from the Center for Naval Analyses (CNA) to discuss their research on the Evolution of Russian Naval Strategy. The presentation will discuss how the Russian navy has integrated itself into Russian military strategy and doctrine, its role in current strategic operations, involvement in escalation management/war termination concepts, key combat missions, and tasks. The discussion will emphasize how the Russian Navy sees the world in terms of different types of maritime zones, philosophy and approach to resolving combat tasks in those areas, and how these choices shape decision on force structure and capability acquisition.
