This virtual event will discuss recent developments in Russian nuclear doctrine and thinking over the last three years. It will draw on changes in stated Russian nuclear doctrine, lessons learned from the war in Ukraine, developments in advanced Allied conventional capabilities and other relevant factors to assess their likely impact on the role that Russia sees for its strategic and - especially - non-strategic nuclear capabilities in deterrence dynamics and escalation management. The event will feature a presentation by RUSI experts, followed by an audience Q&A.
