OEE Red Diamond JAN11

The latest edition of the Worldwide Equipment Guide (WEG) was published in December 2010. New additions were added to Volume 1: Ground Systems and Volume 2: Airspace and Air Defense Systems. New data sheets added to the WEG include the Striker Light Strike Vehicle, the M1978 and M1989, the 170-mm Koksan SP Gun, the SPN-2/3/4 High-Power Radar Jammer, the PSNR-5, PSNR-5M, Kredo-M1GSRs, 122-mm Cannon Ammunition, the IL245 Airborne Radar ECM Jammer, the Weasel 2000 Mobile ESM and ELINT Jammer, the Eritac Tactical Communications System, and the IBMS Integrated Battle Management System. Example data sheets of the United Kingdom Mobile ESM and ELINT Weasel 2000, the Singapore Light Strike Vehicle Spider, the Ukrainian Kolchuga-M, and the Russian Orion ELINT systems are included in this newsletter.

The WEG was developed to support OPFOR equipment portrayal in training simulations (constructive, virtual, and live) and other related activities, and is approved for those uses. The equipment portrayed represents military systems, variants, and upgrades that U.S. forces might encounter now and in the foreseeable future. It is a living document. The authors analyze real-world developments and trends to ensure that the OPFOR remains relevant.

The WEG is not a product of the U.S. intelligence community. Published in three volumes, it is the approved document for OPFOR equipment data used in U.S. Army training.
