Burkina Faso is a landlocked country in West Africa. (It’s the only non-island/non-archipelago nation that makes the bottom 10.) The country was called the Republic of Upper Volta from 1958 to 1984. The name was changed after the country declared independence from the French to Burkina Faso, which literally translates to “land of the upright men”. And the capital is Ouagadougou… which isn’t one of the most forgotten world capitals.
