Attached is a 1976 study, "Flight to Israel: A Historical Documentary of Strategic Airlift to Israel, 14 October - 14 November 1973," that Military Airlift Command (MAC) wrote with the intent to present in one comprehensive document to account for all the significant actions and events relating to the Military Airlift Command's strategic airlift to Israel. It begins with the indecisive days just prior to the first mission when the White House, the State Department, and the Pentagon pondered the "how" and the "who" of getting the requested war supplies to Israel. Once the decision was made for MAC to go all the way, MAC went. This study tells how it was done and concludes with a summary of the problems and the lessons learned.
