The recent discovery [Science 380, 278 (2023)] of the inherent robustness of topological confined modes of light has dramatically expanded the stable mode count in optical fibers, which is useful for scaling the dimensionality of quantum networks. Each such propagating mode, possesses differing angular momentum content, as illustrated by the coincident but distinct spiral patterns, and enables the generation, transport and reception of a large ensemble of quantum superpositions.
