This is a 37x37 µm atomic force microscopy image of CuInP2S6-In4/3P2S6 (CIPS-IPS), a single crystal heterostructure known to be ferroelectric at room temperature. This sample was grown at Wright-Patterson Airforce Base. CIPS-IPS has tunable properties based on copper composition at growth, as well as unique nonlinear optical properties which make it an exciting candidate for future 2D layered opto-electronic devices.
