On behalf of the 63d Readiness Division
Good morning my dear brothers and sisters,
Each and every day I am reminded of this simple truth, God (Jesus Christ) is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). And it brings me great comfort.
The world as we know it has changed, well, some things have changed, and others are familiar but strangely different. It can be unsettling, it is a time of anticipation, of what new things will come in this strange new world. A time of new opportunities, and at times, a place where caution and precautions should be exercised.
So the question I have for us today, how are we facing this brave new world? What gives us confidence to enter into the seemingly unknown on a day-to-day basis?
Is it our friends and family that give us strength?
Is it our faith?
Is it something else we draw from deep inside of us?
There is something to be said for the ordinary and mundane, and yet we are living in an extraordinary time in history. There is a re-ordering in our world, and the things that mattered 18 months ago, may not be the same things that matter so much anymore. For many of us our priorities have changed.
And many of us have been changed, or are being changed now. I include myself in that as well. I am not the same as I was 18 months ago. I have been stretched, I have been tested, and I have prevailed. We have prevailed.
Today let us reflect on the areas we have been stretched and areas in which we have prevailed. Consider for a moment the ways we have changed with love and compassion for ourselves and for others, and remember, we are truly living in unchartered territory and in extraordinary times.
Let us remember, that in the midst of unprecedented change, and many unknowns, we have confidence in our God, who is steady, who never changes, and it is on this truth, on this Rock, that gives us the strength to carry on.
Prayer for the day:
Lord, we place our trust in you, and draw our strength from you. Thank you for the ways you strengthen us each and every day, help us to keep our eyes fixed on you, to draw our confidence from you alone. For in you, we are more than conquerors.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
