Hello, Everyone. This is Chaplain Sung Kim. I am Deputy CMD CH in the 63d Readiness Division. I pray you are well.

There is an expression among those who exercise on a regular basis, especially athletics, "No Pain, No Gain." The expression basically means that if you are not willing to work hard and suffer a little for your efforts, then you are not going to accomplish very much. The same principle is true in life as well. In order for one to be productive in business, for example, one must be willing to make sacrifices with time and money; one must make an effort in order to do well.

In our personal relationships, we should also understand this to be true. The more we put into a relationship, the better it is going to be. The parent who makes an effort to spend time with their children is going to have a better relationship with their children than the parent that doesn't. The husband who spends more time with his wife will have a better relationship than one who is always gone. I have learned everything about better relationships from Strong Bonds Training.

And as a result I’m relearning the age-old truth of our lesson: “Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees…so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.”

No matter the reason, sometimes all it takes are some quotes of encouragement to remind us that it is all going to be OK; that we will figure things out, and that everything really does happen for a purpose.

When Disadvantage Is Your Advantage, Disadvantage can be the stimulus for self-improvements that can change greatly. Many things are possible when you are allowed to fail once, and twice, and to try again, in order to break through the barriers of disadvantage.

All the trials and tribulations that you encounter are only to make you better person even if it’s bad.

My mom told me that life is definitely going to be like a roller coaster, with many ups and many downs, but how I deal with this ride, is what will make me who I am.

Yes, I believe suffering makes is stronger. It builds our resilience and makes us emotionally stronger. During tough times, we feel weak and vulnerable with little self-worth, but when we work through those tough times it makes us prepared for the next battle in our lives. Suffering makes us stronger and may lead to success when you pick up the lesson from suffering. Suffering changes our life from good to best.

Today’s Scripture comes from 2 Corinthians 4:8. “We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair.”

The New Testament describes many hardships that Paul faced during their mission trips. Paul was subjected to such hardship to the point where his life was in danger. Paul didn’t give up his vision because of pain and suffering. There is an unchangeable truth in this situation. “Where there is no suffering, there is no glory.” Any life of faith without a suffering cannot have any glory. No pain, no gain. No cross, no glory. No sacrifice, no love.

Have a blessed day! Blood and Fire!
