Hello, Everyone. This is Chaplain Sung Kim. I am Deputy CMD CH in the 63d Readiness Division. I pray you are well.

I would like to say that “Our problems are temporary. Our God is greater than our problems.” This is my attitude for this Pandemic Crisis. If we have a positive attitude, we can be happy in any situation. Attitude is more important than anything. The remarkable thing is that we have a choice every day regarding our attitude.

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.  It is not much important what happens to us, but how we respond to what happens to us that is more important.

I know many people who have come from good homes, but have wasted their lives.  On the other hand, I know many people who have come from poverty and abuse, but have accomplished great things.

There is a key attitude in life to keep in mind.  The key attitude is: Be of good cheer.  You can’t be of good cheer if you are constantly thinking about how bad and terrible the world is.

If you are angry at the world, you cannot be at peace in the world.  If you are afraid of the world, you cannot minister to the world.  You have to love the world as God loves the world.

Here is today’s wisdom. “It is the hopeful, buoyant, cheerful attitude of mind that wins. Optimism is a success builder, pessimism an achievement killer.” —Orison Swett Marden

As Christians, we are full of anticipation and excitement about what God is doing.  Christians are people of hope.  For us, sorrow is always a temporary emotion, and joy is the norm.

The Bible says, “A cheerful heart is good medicine.” In fact, a positive attitude and cheerful spirit are better than any medication you can take.

Cheerfulness is special because of how it affects others. It isn’t just something that you feel on your own, it involves expressing positive feelings to those around you. Acting cheerful when you’re really not happy can actually produce the opposite effect in those around you. You may think you are great at faking emotions. But, your body language and facial expressions can reveal your true feelings. By focusing on what you’re passionate about and learning to share this passion with others, you can become more cheerful.

Here are 7 simple ways to be a cheerful person.

  1. Be with others who make you smile. Studies show that we are happiest when we are around those who are also happy.
  2. Hold on to your values.
  3. Accept the good.
  4. Imagine the best, not the worst.
  5. Do things you love.
  6. Find your life purpose.
  7. Listen to your heart.

Cheerfulness is a multiplier. If you’ve ever been in the presence of a happy person, you know that a good laugh can spread the spirit of joy far and wide—and when you give that joy and positivity to others, you receive the same blessing in return.

Have a blessed day. Blood and Fire!
