Hello Everyone, This is Chaplain Sung Kim. I am Deputy CMD CH in the 63d Readiness Division. I pray you are well.
I’d like to say that you must schedule your priorities. Nishan Panwar says that “There is no one busy in this world, it’s always about priorities. You will always find time for the things you feel important.”
None of us knows what to expect this year of 2021. We don’t know what experiences we will share, we don’t know what circumstances we’ll find ourselves in, we don’t know who will be with us this time next year and who won’t be. So, keeping the unknown before us we are faced with certain realities.
We can keep living our lives like each moment is just another opportunity to keep ourselves busy, or we can choose to make each moment matter, living it to the fullest. What matters most for us to keep perspective on the New Year is to know what matters most. When we identify the most important thing everything else finds its place and we will be equipped to begin living lives of priority and purpose.
Os Guinness tells the story of a conference speaker and recalling this man’s words, “’As you know, I have been very fortunate in my career and I’ve made a lot of money-far more than I ever dreamed of, far more than I could ever spend, far more than my family needs.’ The speaker was a prominent businessman at a conference near Oxford University.
The strength of his determination and character showed in his face, but a moment’s hesitation betrayed deeper emotions hidden behind the outward intensity. A single tear rolled slowly down his well-tanned cheek. ‘To be honest, one of my motives for making so much money was simple-to have the money to hire people to do what I don’t like doing. But there’s one thing I’ve never been able to hire anyone to do for me: find my own sense of purpose and fulfillment. I’d give anything to discover that.’”
This man’s priorities had a profound impact on his experience of life. And what he discovered was that though he had achieved levels of success and wealth most of us can only dream of, the one thing he could not achieve was a deep and abiding sense of purpose and fulfillment. Deep layers of regret surrounded his heart as he reflected on his priorities and the way those priorities guided his choices in life.
Our priorities are the areas of our lives that are meaningful and important to us. They’re usually activities, practices, or relationships that we want to put genuine effort and time into. I pray that you choose your life priorities in 2021 wisely and it will give you life meaning and a purpose.
Your life missions are priorities that give you meaning and happiness. These are what make you live beyond being successful, but also work on something significant in life. What do you want from life? When you prioritize those things without compromising your commitment to them, you will always end up achieving your goals.
Matthew 6:33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Today’s Prayer: Lord, please help us use our life and to organize our priorities wisely. We decree and declare that You are pleased with the arrangement of our life. We want to invest wisely. Our priorities and time spent on those people and things are pleasing to You in your Gracious Name.
Have a blessed day. Blood and Fire!
