Hello Everyone, This is Chaplain Sung Kim. I am Deputy CMD CH in the 63d Readiness Division. I pray you are well.

Expectations are extremely influential. Positive expectations can lead to a more positive life. Research has shown that optimists with positive expectations live longer than pessimists. They have less illness, and when they get sick, they recover faster.

Karla Brandau encourages success-oriented people to implement this creed: “Expect Success, then work like there is no other option.”

People don’t succeed because they don’t expect to succeed. For instance, If an athletic team didn’t expect to win, it would never take the playing field. In a like manner, you should go to work with the attitude that you will make it a successful day and that you will be able to handle whatever blocks or problems come your way. Because expectation becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.”

In a times of constant negative messaging during COVID-19, it is hard for even the most optimistic among us to stay positive. We need to believe that we will get through this too. We need to pay attention to the “good” news. We need to stay connected to our God, family, friends, and community so that we can keep our positive attitude and march forward with determination and hope. Together, we’ll get through this.

Your attitude can impact every component of your life. When you maintain a positive approach to life challenges you will move toward your goals more productively than those who become stuck in their negative attitude. A positive attitude is extremely important in how you approach every situation and deal with your most challenging experiences on a daily basis.

How to think positive thoughts:

  1. Focus on the good things. Challenging situations and obstacles are a part of life.
  2. Practice gratitude. Keep a gratitude journal.
  3. Open yourself up to humor.
  4. Spend time with positive
  5. Practice positive self-talk.
  6. Identify your areas of negativity.
  7. Start every day on a positive

When you have a positive expectation, it keeps you moving on and on because you believe that the better will come. You might not have enough now but you will have more than enough soon. In addition, you might not be satisfied with your current situation now but the best will come.

Psalm 34:1 says, “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

Today’s Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for blessing me with your word, I yield my whole life to you, and declare that your perfect will is fulfilled in me today. Lord, I rely on you alone for a better day, I believe you have a better plan for me and that's why I have a positive expectation. Amen.

Have a blessed day! Blood and Fire!
