TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS
>Now in Phase II of the academic year, you can apply for the following:
• 3-YEAR SCHOLARSHIP: Covers the last three years of college
• 2-YEAR SCHOLARSHIP: Covers the last two years of college or two years of graduate school
ELIGIBILITY
--Eligible candidates include college students looking to enroll in ROTC and Soldiers who wish to become officers.
--See your school’s ROTC Recruiting Operations Officer (ROO) for more information.
--Currently contracted ROTC cadets are not eligible for the Phase II Minuteman Scholarship.
SERVICE OBLIGATION
--Cadets incur an eight-year service obligation to actively drill upon commissioning.
BENEFITS
--Receive full tuition and fees (uncapped) or room and board ($10,000 per year) at the participating university of attendance
--Receive cadet stipend monthly ($420 freshman-senior)
--Receive a book stipend of $1,200 annually ($600 per semester)
--Guaranteed commission in the Army Reserve
REQUIREMENTS
--Candidates must have an endorsement from an Army Reserve unit commander or Army Reserve Ambassador.
--Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) with USAR unit; drill monthly receiving E5/cadet drill pay.
--Enroll in ROTC at university of attendance.
--2.5 cumulative GPA to accept scholarship; 2.0 to maintain.
