KMZ/KML Won't display in APAN

Hello, I have had SO much trouble getting layers to show up in APAN and I don't understand why. I had submitted a trouble ticket and was told my kmz was encrypted. So I created a test kmz and was able to upload and view it in my organization ArcGIS Online, but I cannot view it in APAN ArcGIS Online. What is the difference with APAN? And what other formats can I use from ArcGIS Pro to make the compatible with APAN ArcGIS Online? Shapefiles do not seem to be an option. I also tried converting it to a kml to no avail.

Thanks for any advice and help.

  • We use zipped file geodatabases.
    1. Compress the entire folder using the Send to> Compressed (zipped) Folder option in Windows. Make sure that the fgdb is not in use at the time.
    2. Once the file is uploaded and published as a feature service (if you are planning to edit it online) make sure that it is shared properly.
    3. Finally, if you are going to update the fgdb on the Portal, be sure to update the SERVICE and not the file geodatabase.
  • Alesa, to your question re: what is the difference between ArcGIS Online and "APAN ArcGIS Online". APAN uses the latest version of ArcGIS Enterprise (10.9.1) in a Cloud environment on AWS GovCloud with the approval to host data up to CUI with authorization by our Program Office. This means that we are 100% in control of all services with our offering. ArcGIS Online is hosted and maintained by the fine folks at Esri and is not authorized to host anything above unclassified.

If you have any other questions please by all means let us know.
