How do I model and validate physical connections in CSM?
I’d like to model the physical connection from a device connection to a cable connector.
For example:I have a system with a power cord that I would like to model to verify the correct connectors are on it and that the correct connection is being made. The wall receptacle is typically a 5-15R for North America, the matching power cord connection is a 5-15P. I can add ports to my block in an ibd for the receptacle and plug ends, but I cannot validate that a good connection is 5-15R=5-15P for the wall end.
See enclosed. I built a validation rule to look at all connectors; those that have ends that are proxy ports typed by interface blocks with the <<plug>> stereotype are assessed; both ends need to be the same (that way you can conjugate) or be explicitly declared as compatible with a <<compatible>> relationship.
Just run the Connector Validation Suite to see it in action.
