Abstract
While there is a growing consensus in the West that Russia constitutes a substantial threat and is engaged in strategies employing military and non-military means aimed at undermining western governments, the main drivers of Russian external actions and the ultimate aims of Russian policy are disputed. In this webinar, Neil Melvin will consider the evolving nature of Russian national strategy from the late 1990s to the present day, will outline the principal explanations of Russia’s actions and explore likely near and long-term Russian ambitions.
