Why is the Army hosting an event about unmanned maritime systems?

The Future of Unmanned Maritime Systems is the next webinar in the Mad Scientist Robotics & Autonomy Series of Virtual Events. In the future, the Army will be operating through a Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) warfighting concept and framework. The maritime domain will be a critical part of this fight. The Army may be called upon to counter sea-based threats, help open sea lanes, and require support and enabling capabilities from the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. It is paramount that we understand the threats and capabilities in this domain.

This webinar will feature proclaimed Mad Scientist Mr. Sam Bendett, Researcher and Consultant, CNA; Mr. Kelvin Wong, Editor: Unmanned Maritime Systems at Janes; and Mr. Montrell Smith, Assistant Program Manager, Advanced Autonomy Capabilities, Unmanned Maritime Systems, U.S. Navy.

These panelists will discuss their observations on the current status and future of unmanned maritime systems and will field questions from participants.
