Bryce G. Hoffman is a bestselling author, speaker and consultant. As an award-winning financial journalist, he spent two decades covering major companies in the automotive, technology and biotechnology industries. Bryce was given unparalleled access to startups and major multinationals. He saw what worked and what didn’t. His book, American Icon: Alan Mulally and the Fight to Save Ford Motor Company, was a Wall Street Journal bestseller that the paper named one of the best business books of 2012. It tells the story of Ford's epic turnaround, which took place against the backdrop of the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. Bryce has distilled the management methods Mulally used to save Ford into a game-changing formula for transformational leadership that he now teaches to top executives at companies across the United States and around the world. Now, he is working the U.S. Army and allied forces to add red teaming principles to that system in order to create agile, forward-looking organizations.

Bryce will talk about transformational leadership and outline this new management model that drives accountability, fosters teamwork and dispels complacency. He will also present ideas for creating a more adaptable and agile organization that takes nothing for granted and is constantly stress-testing its plans and strategies. Finally, he will discuss the importance of organizational culture and show how to use these methods to change it for the better.

This talk is part of TRADOC's Mad Scientist initiative. Mad Scientist comprises a series of events to help the Army think about the evolution of the Operational Environment (OE), the effects of all aspects of technology on the future of Armed Conflict, continuously learn, adapt, and innovate, and allow for broader engagement in problem solving. The current series is focused on the Megacities and Dense Urban Areas in 2025 and Beyond.

This presentation is UNCLASSIFIED and open to the public.
