Mad Scientist Initiative
Strategic Security Environment 2050
Online Survey Instructions

Thank you for your participation in the Mad Scientist event focusing on the Strategic Security Environment in 2050. We appreciate your efforts to help TRADOC G-2 maintain perspective on the far future operational environment and the underlying technology evolution to support capability development for the U.S. Army.
Please take a moment to complete our online survey (https://survey.max.gov/818145) to help TRADOC G-2 rapidly adapt to the dynamic strategic environment of the far future. This survey helps us look at ideas in the context of how they will enable us to address the 20 Army Warfighting challenges. This survey is also available via mobile devices for use during the conference itself.

This survey has five parts.

1. The first part is administrative: name and contact information so that in the future we might reach out to you for more information.

2. The second part asks for information about your idea and whether it is an existing, new or emerging concept/capability. We also ask that you can include an informative description of your idea.

3. The third part involves categorization of your idea in terms of the TRADOC science and technology lines of effort, of which there are eight. If your idea does not fit any of these categories, then choose NONE.

4. The fourth part helps to associate your idea to the TRADOC technology imperatives, of which there are six. Explain the degree to which your idea will influence the technology impact, ranging from no impact (none) to extremely valuable. If your idea does not fit any of these categories, then choose NONE.

5. The fifth part asks you to tell us which of the 20 Army Warfighting Challenges will benefit from your idea. You can choose as many as you deem appropriate. Please assess the degree to which your idea will impact the Army Warfighting Challenge, ranging from no impact (none) to extremely valuable.

This Survey should take less than 30 minutes to complete (per idea). You can submit as many ideas as you like. If you have any questions, please contact Joel Lawton at 757-501-6201 or joel.b.lawton.civ@mailmil or Allison Winer at 757-501-6434 or allison.d.winer.ctr@mail.mil.
There is an additional survey (https://survey.max.gov/957534) for those who attended the Mad Scientist conference either physically or virtually via the TRADOC Watch website. This survey has seven questions that asks you to tell us what you liked about the conference, what can be improved, and to provide additional comments.
