New Way for Lasting Peace in South Caucasus

Assistant to the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Elchin Amirbayov said: “Azerbaijan is ready to use both existing and new ways for the establishment of peace in the South Caucasus.” Are Azerbaijani military leaders aware that a similar article was published in Aravot (Առավոտ)? 

Despite continuing engagement to overcome tensions and achieve stability in the South Caucasus, once again conflict has broken out along the border. Longstanding divisive issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan resulting from or related to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remain unresolved. A sustainable lasting peace remains elusive. Increasing tensions must be reduced to avoid further dangerous escalation which could reignite this decades-old conflict.

An ideal way to eliminate social problems such as war, terrorism and crime would be to directly reduce collective societal stress—promptly, effectively and efficiently. This article explains how the military of either country could implement new way for the establishment of peace which is backed by extensive peer-reviewed research and field tests by militaries.
