Well - here I am in APAN training class. Tim Gramp is up here going to town - teaching us all he knows. I like the tool - so simple even I can use it in a basic fashion. However, there are intricacies that need to be further explored to make maximum use of the site. Can't wait for the name change! How about All Partners Access Network? Still APAN!
We've been kicking around the idea of PANGEA (Pan-Global Engagement Architecture). Graphically, and semantically, the image of all the continents being connected is pretty powerful. Thoughts? If that were the top level, APAN could be deprecated and represent the PACOM-centric portion, APCN could be the AFRICOM mothership, and EPCN (European Partner Country Network) could represent EUCOM?
Thoughts?
How about Participants vs Partners? All Participants Association Network / All Participants And Nations? Same bottom line without using potentially offensive "Partner"
I definitely do not want to do anything that would hurt our ability to communicate with NGOs. However, I really do not think the term "Partner" is all that divisive. We have to call it something, and keeping the name APAN really reduces the transition burden for PACOM.
I don't think Africa Community Building Platform will work as we're trying to convey more of a worldwide community rather than region specific. Unfortunate that All Partners Access Network may run into hurdles with some NGOs as I kinda like it.
I have to concur with Mr. Vrtis here. How about Africa Community Building Platform?
