Wrap-up of APAN requirements gathering session

APCN teammates,

Last week saw a very successful series of meetings wrap up between AFRICOM, SOUTHCOM, EUCOM, PACOM and the lead APAN software engineers. There's a long list of improvements coming out that I wanted to update the community on.

First, we're looking at dramatically revamping the registration process. It needs to be easier and more intuitive in order to get maximum participation from all the partners involved in APCN.

Second, we are translating the site menu into French. Don't worry! Other languages will follow shortly - we just saw a need to address Francophone countries quickly.

Third, we're going to be rolling out an improved APAN interface that requires less bandwidth.

Those are the big improvements.

Other things to follow: integration with Twitter / Facebook. You'll be able to sign in using your Facebook or Twitter ID and post content. You'll also be able to share APAN content via Twitter or Facebook. No set timeline on this, but it's definitely in the works.

You should also see an improved chat client soon, improved file handling, and a more intuitive method for tagging documents with descriptors and key words. In the meantime, what are some things you as a community would like to see. I really need your feedback, so please take the time to share it here.

Cheers,

Jordan
