APAN Browser Best Practices

What Browsers does APAN Support?

APAN supports Chrome, Edge and Firefox.  IE is no longer supported.   
  • If you do not have a supported browser, please consult your internal Network or System Administration team for support.

How do I clear my cache?

  • Clearing your cache frequently may help your computer's performance.  When Websites are not loaded with the latest data, it could be because you have to delete cached files, in order to let the browser download new data. Based on the browser you're using, you can follow the instructions below:

PC

Internet Explorer - IE IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED, PLEASE USE MS EDGE

  1. Within Internet Explorer, go to Tools.
  2. Select Internet Options
  3. If you cannot locate Tools on the top left hand corner of your browser, press the ALT key and the menu bar should appear.
  4. Click Delete, a Delete Browsing History window will appear.
  5. Check:
    • Temporary Internet files and website files.
    • Cookie and website data
  6. Click Delete > Ok.
  7. Wait for the browser to finish deleting the selected browsing history.
  8. Note - saved passwords will be lost.

Firefox

  1. Go to Menu button (looks like a hamburger) > History > Clear Recent History
  2. Click the drop-down menu next to Time range to clear to choose how much you want to clear.  Select how much history you want to clear. We recommend selecting Everything.
  3. Click the arrow next to details to select what information will get cleared. Select Cookies and Cache.
  4. Click Clear Now.

Google Chrome

  1. In the top-right corner of Chrome, click the Chrome menu Chrome Menu.
  2. Select More tools > Clear browsing data.
  3. In the dialog that appears, select the checkboxes for the types of information that you want to remove, such as Cookies and Cache.
  4. Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete. Select beginning of time to delete everything.
  5. Click Clear browsing data.

Microsoft Edge

There are two ways to clear your cache in Microsoft Edge:

1. Clear browser data in Microsoft Edge with the keyboard shortcut.

  1. Press the keys [Ctrl], [Shift] and [Del].
  2. A new Window opens. Select the option temporary services and files.
  3. Confirm your selection by clicking delete.

2. Delete the browser cache in Microsoft Edge through the menu.

  1. Click "Hub" symbol in the main menu.
  2. Then browse to History.
  3. Now you can click Delete the whole history.
  4. Check the option temporary services and files.
  5. Confirm the selection and click on delete.
