This handbook focuses on the commander, Air Force forces (COMAFFOR's) warfighting role and the exercise of operational command authorities, assuming that the COMAFFOR will be appointed the joint force air component commander (JFACC), as is normally the case. The COMAFFOR handbook (LeMay Center Handbook 10-02) focuses on the COMAFFOR's role in oversight of Air Force logistics, administration, and military discipline and the administrative control, direction, and support that flow through the Service chain of command. These handbooks provide a resource to spin up quickly and to be a more effective JFACC and COMAFFOR to the joint force commander whether it is during an exercise, a wargame, or a real-world operation.
