SAFEGUARDING SENIORS: GUARDIANSHIP AND CONSERVATORSHIP
Americans are living longer than ever before and often with more wealth than previous generations. According to the 2016 census, individuals who were then age 65 to 74, are the fastest growing population in America. They also have the highest median net worth according to the US Federal Reserve. Cognitive decline is sometimes a normal part of aging and sometimes it can be due to another factor, such as Dementia. It is important to have a plan in place, in case mental capacity is lost, to avoid costly guardianship and conservatorship proceedings. What is Guardianship and Conservatorship? How can you avoid it? Who can help you put a plan together to assure that you have the documents and protections that you need to live out the rest of your life? Mr. Burns will cover these topics so that you are prepared when health issues arise and it is time to put a plan in action.
