Greetings, APAN Customers!

We are excited to announce that APAN is moving forward with some application updates this summer:

  • SharePoint sites will have a visual upgrade applied for version 2013 on 25 June - refer to the complete details here. Key takeaways:
    • Sites will not be available during the upgrade process. The Authorized Service Interruption (ASI) period for Microsoft SharePoint (SP) sites on the APAN platform is Friday, 25 June 2200 GMT until Sunday, 27 June 2200 GMT (2 days)
    • Site owners must process pending member requests before Friday, June 25 2100 GMT; otherwise, users will just need to request access again after the upgrade
    • Certain 2010 customizations might display differently than expected in Microsoft SharePoint version 2013; site owners may also need to modify page layouts, designs, and/or webparts after the upgrade is completed
    • New options for managing workflows, streamlined member access approval and other updated features are available with SP 2013
  • Adobe Connect will be upgraded to version 11.2 on 25 June
    • The ASI period for Adobe Connect rooms on the APAN platform is Friday, 25 June 1800 GMT until Saturday, 26 June 0200 GMT (8 hours), meeting rooms will not be available during this timeframe
    • Customers should END meetings before the Adobe Connect upgrade process starts, to avoid the possibility of their rooms/content becoming corrupted in the database
    • This upgrade will include improved features for MAC users, enhanced audio, and native closed caption capability
    • After the upgrade, all meeting rooms will use the standard (new) view by default instead of the older or flash-based "classic" view

We will post a warning banner across main pages for sites & community starting on 14 June to remind users about the upgrades planned for 25 June.
