Greetings APAN Users,

After many months of hard work, the New Community Map App has finally arrived! This new capability will provide a new User Interface (UI) for Community users that will mirror many of the interface capabilities found in our Portal for ArcGIS on APAN. This Community Map will also mirror the other applications (wikis, blogs, forums and media galleries) found in our Verint Communities and can be found under the +New blue button on the top right corner (once a Map App has been created).

The features that are now available include the following:

  • A UI that can be used to build familiarity towards future engagement with our ArcGIS platform
  • GeoTags can be shown collectively or individually for all Verint apps
  • Link to existing data types hosted elsewhere; Feature Service, ArcGIS Map Server--dynamic and static, GeoRSS, GeoJSON, KML
    • We have included examples of existing features available for use
  • Upload of KML and GeoJSON files
  • The ability to draw points, lines, polygons, rectangles/squares, circles and text that can have their color and transparency adjusted as needed
  • Basemaps that are included are Satellite, Roads, hybrid (satellite/with labels) and terrain with labels
  • Full screen option
  • Maps can be rotated 360 degrees using the right-click mouse button
  • Coming Soon! Time Slider for depicting Community Application content over a time period
  • Coming Soon! Map Layer Data from APAN's ArcGIS Portal and Esri's Public ArcGIS Portal will be able to be searched* and displayed.

Look around and be sure to visit the updated Knowledge Base articles with all of the latest how-to guidance. A list of Demo Maps can be found here.

Happy Mapping from the APAN GIS Team!
