Usernames are created by APAN during account creation. Usernames follow the format of firstname.lastname. If an account already exists with the same firstname.lastname, a digit is added after the firstname. The digit increases with each new account created with the same firstname.lastname.
Usernames cannot change.
Your Registered Email is the validated primary email used for account activities like retrieving your username, resetting passwords, and verifying your account. A Recovery Email serves as a backup to regain access if you're locked out.
Update Your Registered or Recovery Email:
MFA adds an extra layer of security to your account. When you log in, you’ll be prompted to enter a one-time verification code sent to the primary and recovery email associated with the account.
If you're not receiving your code, submit a ticket here: https://www.apan.org/pages/support using our Fix Something portal.
APAN uses a security image to help you verify that you are logging into the legitimate APAN website. You select an image when you create your APAN account.
