Program Description
The Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience program funds high-risk, high-potential basic research that uses experimental and computational modeling techniques from systems neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, computational/theoretical neuroscience, cellular and molecular neuroscience, cognitive science, and cognitive psychology to (1) understand the neural mechanisms responsible for perception, cognition, and behavior/motor control. The program also supports (2) brain-inspired algorithm and hardware development provided these are useful for testing proposed neuroscience theories and/or enabling novel capabilities in computing, artificial intelligence, or autonomous systems.
Basic Research Objectives can be found in this program’s section of the BAA.
