Aloha, APAN Customers!

As the end of 2021 draws near, our team is busy working on community maintenance and updates to make your APAN experience even more safe and secure. Please note the following changes coming soon:
  • Customers must log into APAN at least once every 35 days to keep their accounts active. At 36 days, the inactive account will be disabled and require our tier 1 Help Desk Techs to manually re-enable/reactivate it.
  • The 60-day password change has already been in effect for years, along with the other password complexity requirements - customers with accounts that have been disabled for more than 60 days must first contact the APAN Help Desk to re-enable their account, confirm their email address, and then use the "forgot password" feature to reset their password as usual.
  • A DOD "warning/consent" pop-up will appear every time a person first visits any APAN website/app and must be clicked to allow access.*
  • Anyone using Verint Community groups, SharePoint sites, ArcGIS maps/apps/groups, and Translate will be subject to a 15-minute inactive session timeout. Adobe Connect and Chat will NOT be affected ty the 15-minute inactivity timeout due to the nature of the information sharing requirement and purpose of the capability.
  • There have been certain US DOD NIPR network domains that had blocked access to apan.org apps/services in the past due to their own security settings or firewall restrictions. If any customers experience problems accessing APAN from your specific DOD installation, work with your own local network IT POC(s)/help desk and also notify us for situational awareness, so we can assist with confirming policy/settings with your IT POCs if needed.
Our next ASI is scheduled for 13 December 2021, 1600-2330 GMT. Feel free to review the list of STIGs applicable to APAN, and contact us if you have questions or need assistance anytime.

Happy Holidays,
Your APAN Customer Engagement Team
