Aloha and Hau'oli Makahiki Hou, (Happy New Year)

The APAN Staff has been actively working on transitioning the APAN environments into the Amazon Web Services Cloud infrastructure. We are on schedule to make this happen within the next six months. The transition of APAN into the cloud will be transparent to our users.

Although transition of APAN operations to a cloud infrastructure will not impact users or current APAN support to humanitarian crisis response, exercises, events or working groups IF you have an important event or business meeting / mission that you would like my staff to be aware between the period January to July 2018, please send the information to our help desk at support@apan-info.net or comment on this announcement. This information will provide us visibility and awareness of events that we should keep track of just in case we need to conduct unschedule platform maintenance or updating in preparation to transitioning to a cloud environment.

We are looking forward to this transition and the possibilities for future growth and support to our valued customers.  Thank you for you consideration

  • One of the benefits of moving to a cloud infrastructure is to manage our computing assets and storage, load balances as quickly as needed (plus we own the OS now instead of putting in a ticket to DISA every time we need something changed). So I do expect more resposiveness from our applications.  Additionally as far as Adobe Connect is concerned we have purchased some licenses and are evaluating ZOOM products as possible replacement for Adobe, but this has been put in back burner until after cloud transition.  Let me know if you would like to be one of the ZOOM product evaluators.

    Cheers
