Maps and ArcGIS

As an Owner, you can add applications, such as blogs, forums, wikis, and media galleries to your community. You can add posts and documents to these applications which allow you create and organize content. You can also visualize content on a map you also can add a Map App.

APAN offers two ways to visualize content by locations. This wiki will explain how the Map App works within your Verint group.

APAN’s Map App within a Verint Group - The Map App provides a solution for users who wish to share visual representations of geotagged content, URLs, and Files.
1. Geotagging works by Verint Community recognizing geographical references in the content of a post. For example, if a user posts a document and includes “this meeting will take place in San Antonio, Texas,” the document will automatically be geotagged in San Antonio, Texas using the Map App features.
  - An example of why you may want to utilize the Map App:
    - If you are working an exercise across multiple locations. Each location may have separate scenarios based on that location. If your content is tagged by the location of each exercise, using the Map App will help your Verint Community members identify content visually by location.
2. URLs - Reference public data hosted on other sites.
  - Example is ArcGIS Feature Layers, GEORSS Feeds, etc.
3. Files - Use 0 to upload data.

APAN’s Portal for ArcGIS -

Portal for ArcGIS is a map-centric content management system. It is designed for publishers who wish to create and utilize various applications to create maps and content, while adding data for spatial analysis. Portal for ArcGIS does not provide a geotagging solution.
