Change the title, description and logo for your site

1. Go to your site.
2. In the top, right corner, click Settings.
3. Select Site Settings.    
   
4. Under Look and Feel, click Title, Description and logo. 
   
5. Update the Title field. Add or edit the optional Description for the site.  
6. Do one of the following under Logo and Description:
   1. Click FROM COMPUTER, browse for an image and click Open.
   2. Click FROM SHAREPOINT, browse for an image on the SharePoint site, and click Insert.
7. Fill in an optional description or alternate text.
8. Click OK to save.

APAN BEST PRACTICES:  APAN recommends a height less than 100 pixels (px).  Large square logos can be reduced to roughly a 100 px width by 100 px height.  In the case of rectangular logos, it is find to extend 400-700 px.  Your existing logo will dictate your alternatives.

Use a theme to change the color, background or fonts of your SharePoint site

1. On your site, click Settings, and click Change the look                                                                                                                               
2. You can also click Settings, click Site settings and then under the Look and Feel heading, click Change the look.           
3. Choose another look from among the choices. Don’t worry if you don’t like the color or the image exactly, you can change that in the next step.  
   
4. Now, you can get creative:

• To add or change the background image, click Change and upload an image of your own, or drag an image from your computer onto the thumbnail image above the Change command.

Note: If drag and drop is not working, install the latest version of your browser.

• To change the color scheme, click the arrow next to Colors and select another color scheme.
• To change the layout, click the arrow next to Site layout and select another layout, which controls the position of the navigation links, search box, and so on.
• To change the fonts, click the arrow next to Fonts and select another font.

Notes:

• You can instantly see what changes look like in the preview area. To revert back to what you had in the beginning, click Start over. You can also click your site logo to exit Change the lookand go back to the home page of your site.
• Since SharePoint installations may have different versions, or can be customized any number of ways, the designer of your site might have provided a different way to exit. Ask your administrator if you don't see one.

5. To see a full-sized preview of how your changes look when applied to your site content, click Try it out. The changes are not yet visible to other site users. If you don't like what you see so far, click Start over.

6. If you like what you see in the preview, click Yes, keep it. If not, click No, not quite there and try something else.

Note: Once you're done, or you change your mind, click the one of the breadcrumb navigation links in the upper left of the screen to get back to where you were.

Edit links or Navigation in your SharePoint site

1. To edit the links on your site, click Edit Links to the right of the top of the page.
2. To change links in the Left-hand menu (also known as the Quick launch bar), click Edit Links.

Note: If you don’t see EDIT LINKS, you might not have permissions to customize the site navigation. You must have at least Manage Lists permissions. Contact the site owner either to get permissions to make the changes yourself or to have the changes made for you.

Add a link by dragging an app from Sit Contents to the Quick Launch or Top link bar

1. Click Settings
2. Click Site contents.
3. Click EDIT LINKS on the Quick Launch or Top link bar, depending on where you want to add a link.
4. Click the app you want to add, and then drag it to where you want it to be on the Quick Launch or Top link bar.
5. Click Save.

Add a link by entering the URL to the Quick Launch or Top link bar

To add a link to another site, type in the URL.

1. Click EDIT LINKSon the Quick Launch or Top link bar, depending on where you want to add a link.
2. Click + link.
3. Enter a display name for the link and a target location, making sure you include the http://.
4. Click OK to add the new link to the Quick Launch or Top link bar.
5. Click Save. 

Rename or remove a link on the Quick Launch or Top link bar

1. Click EDIT LINKS on the Quick Launch or Top link bar, depending on where you want to edit a link.
2. Rename: Click directly on the link you want to rename and start typing the new name. Click outside the name, and then click Save.
3. Remove: Click the X corresponding to the link to remove it from the navigation panel, then click Save.

4. Renaming a link doesn't affect the page address or URL that the link references, only the menu.

Use drag and drop to change the order of links

Click EDIT LINKS on the Quick Launch or Top link bar depending on the location of the link that you want to move.

1. Select the link that you want to move, and then drag it to its new position in the navigation area.
2. To indent or create a sub link, drag the link under and slightly to the right of the link you want as the top link.
3. Repeat these steps for each link you want to move.
4. When finished, click Save.

Note: You can drag items out of Recent to the main Quick Launch bar; however, you cannot drag items into Recent.

More about navigation bars and site navigation

The links that appear on the left side of your site are called Quick Launch links. By default, Quick Launch includes links to recent items as well as important items like lists and libraries. The links at the top, in the Top Link bar, typically show subsites under your site.

Quick Launch

When you create a new list or library, a new link appears automatically under Recent on Quick Launch. Only the five newest links appear in the Recent section.

Note: When you create a new page, it doesn't automatically appear in Quick Launch. You have to create a link to the page and add it yourself.

Top Link bar

You can also customize the navigation links on the Top Link bar of your site to change capitalization, rearrange the order, or add links to the subsites that users visit most often.
