2019 Multifunctional Materials for Defense Workshop

The 5th Multifunctional Materials for Defense Workshop will be held on 26-30 August 2019 in the Research Room of the Basic Research Innovation & Collaboration Center (BRICC) which is located at 4100 North Fairfax Drive, Suite 450, Arlington, VA.  This DoD-wide forum will be held in conjunction with the 2019 Annual Grantees’/Contractors’ Meeting for AFOSR Program on “Mechanics of Multifunctional Materials and Microsystems (M^4) and the 2019 Annual Review for ONR Program on “Polymer Matrix Composites and Non-Destructive Evaluation.” For your information, the following series of Workshops were successfully organized in recent years: the 1st Multifunctional Materials for Defense Workshop in 2010 with a theme of “Energy and Power,” the 2nd Multifunctional Materials for Defense Workshop in 2012 with a theme of “Sensing, Actuation & Energy Transduction,” the 3rd Multifunctional Materials for Defense Workshop in 2014 with a theme of “Blurring the Distinction between Materials and Devices,” and the 4th Multifunctional Materials for Defense Workshop in 2017 with a theme of “Design and Performance of Autonomic, Adaptive and Self-sustaining Systems.” We are certain all attendees will benefit from being exposed to the diverse talent and spectrum of multifunctional materials that constitute the heart and depth of this novel Workshop.
