207 Tags

[toc]

Group Owners can manage tags in all applications that previously implemented the tag moderating interface (that is, in blogs, forums, and media galleries).

The tag service is built deeply into the Telligent user experience in ways you're probably already familiar with, helping users to organize or locate content to create and incorporate discussions. When a user clicks a tag, he/she is served up all content using the same tag. This information can deepen understanding and inspire more interaction with the community. Tagging contributes to community participation by linking discussions within a single group application or across the community, encouraging topic exploration.

Tags are also indexed by search.

Tagging Content

When creating or editing content, tags can be specified or edited within the Tags field of the create/edit form. Additionally, [Hashtags|hashtags] can be placed within the body of most content.

Using the Tag Cloud

A tag is a keyword or term used to categorize and organize post(s). It links one post to others containing related information. Tags give you flexibility in structuring your website and help you map information. They also make the information in your site more accessible to users.

For example, a tag cloud widget can be used on an application home page, group home page, or the site home page. In each case, it scopes to that content. The tags listed in the cloud could be used in any and all of a group's applications in varying numbers. If you click the smallest tag from the cloud, you would see the two posts in the group containing this tag. If the tag appeared in a site home page tag cloud, clicking the tag would take you to all posts on the site (including in all groups/applications) containing that tag.
