201.1.1 Create a Blog Post from a Group Home Page

Navigate to the blog.
Click
New.
The
Pos
t window appears.
In the
Write tab
, enter a name in the
Title
field.
In the same tab type, format, and/or add media to your blog post.
If you want to set further options:
Click Options.
If you want to use different keywords from your title for a
URL
, enter them into the Post URL field.
To add an
image
, click
Select/Upload
under Post Image.
Navigate to the image.
Select the image (Open or Choose).
If you want to future-date your post, click the calendar under Publication Date. The month/day calendar appears.
Click the desired publication date. The date appears in the Publication Date field in YYYY-MM-DD format.
If you want to post the future-dated post at a specific time, edit the time in the Publication Date field.
To attach a file or URL, click Upload file.
Navigate to the desired file.
Click
Open.
Under the Post Summary drop-down list, select the desired option:
No post summary -
Does not display a summary.
Automatic post summary -
The default summary (appears in RSS, activity streams, emails, and blog post lists). Default is the first 250 characters of the post.
Custom Summary -
Select this if you prefer not to use the first 250 characters of the post and want to write your own.
Notify me when someone comments on this post - When someone comments on the post, the post author will be notified by email. (Note that if the author has not allowed notifications on his/her Settings > Email tab, he/she will not receive email notifications even if the Email Notification property is enabled on this blog setup page.)
Open graph - Specify any open graph options you want. The options add meta elements to the p;age source for Facebook.
Title -
Adds a title for the page to the page source.
Description -
Adds a description to the page source.
Image -
Adds a description to the page source.
Search engine optimization - Specify any SEO options you want. The options increase search targeting for your post.
Title -
Specify the title you want search engines to use for the post, if you do not want the post's title used.
Keywords -
Comma-separated list of terms that could improve search engine result lists.
Description -
A custom excerpt from the post.
Click
Post.
