Mute a Discussion Thread

If you are email-subscribed to a thread, you receive emails notifying you of new thread replies (provided you have notifications turned on). You can unsubscribe from, or mute, a thread  two ways: on the thread page or by email.

Mute a thread from the thread page

1. Navigate to the thread you want to mute.
2. Click Mute beside the thread. You will no longer receive email notifications of replies to the thread.  You can re-subscribe by clicking Reply notifications on under More.

Mute a thread from email

1. Open an email message containing a reply notification from this thread.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the message.
3. Click [To unsubscribe from only this thread,] go here.
   
   A notification appears onscreen that the mute was successful, and you will no longer receive email notifications on this subject.
