The abuse workflow is handled in the Moderation Queue's single view panel. Content and author status, moderation actions, and history are all displayed on this panel.
Each entry in the abuse workflow has a number of informational items to help moderators. The types of information are shown in the following sections.
This heading contains the content of a thread to be handled by the abuse system.
This heading shows how many abuse reports have been filed against the content, by whom, and the reporter's reputation.
This heading displays information about the content author such as abuse history, roles, and reputation.
This section, present in each abuse workflow entry, is a thumbnail of post information such as the application and group where it exists, its author, and its current status.
Content in the moderation queue has one of the following three statuses.
Content from a moderated forum or by a moderated author enters the workflow here. If the content is approved, it is published and exits the queue. If it is denied, it is moved to "In abuse process" and the post summary shows that it was denied. It will be expunged from the site on its stated expunge date.
In Awaiting review, a moderator can approve the thread, deny it (refuse to publish it), and moderate or unmoderate the author.
Content that has been flagged as abusive (and meets the minimum "Possibly Abusive Threshold" in Moderation options, defaulting to 2 reports) enters the workflow here. If the abuse report(s) are ignored, the content remains on the community and the reports are removed. If it is denied, it moves to the "In abuse process" section of the queue displaying its denied status. It will be expunged on its stated expunge date.
In Possibly abusive, a moderator can ignore the reports or deny (refuse to publish) the content. He/she can also choose to moderate (or unmoderate) the author.
In addition to containing items that have been denied, this status includes items that have been appealed by the author upon being notified that the content is flagged.
In abuse process, a moderator can approve previously denied content, or deny it. The author can be moderated or unmoderated.
The moderation queue displays content to be moderated or found abusive from any group on the site. Those with the site-level Review Abuse permission can see any moderation or abuse content on the site. Those with the group-level permission can only see abuse in their group. In this release, flagging by moderators (or admins) causes immediate action by the moderation queue and it does not have to pass the abusive threshold.
This procedure is only available in the Social theme. In 9.0, the abuse management queue has been renamed Moderation queue, and is located in the Administration section of the Management panel.
