Posting a map to the Map App is one step. Knowing what data you will want to add is another. Within APAN you can either add external or internal data to your map.
Geotagging associates a city, state, ocean, latitude/longitude, etc. from content in documents, photographs, and application posts to a map. It is the process of adding specific location or geographical data to your blog, forum, media gallery or wiki within your Verint Group.
An example is an announcement/blog post that has been geotagged with the latitude and longitude of a bridge that may be damaged. The post identifies the damaged bridge location with a point on the map.
Geographical references:
For certain geotags (such as city or state) the surrounding text in the post will be used to assist in finding the correct location. For example, if the post has “NY” in the description with no context it may not be Geotagged, but if the sentence says “New York City, NY” it will be Geotagged.
1. As an Owner, go to your group.
2. Click APAN Options. The Options and Settings panel opens.
Note: If the Options widget has been removed due to customizations, add a slash / at the end of the URL with the word “options.”
Example: https://community.apan.org/wg/yourgroupname/options
3. Click Features.
4. Check Geotagging to enable geospatial metadata for group content.
Manual Geotagging is the process of typing in a Latitude and Longitude or adding a place marker to the map under a post. This can be done by typing the Latitude/Longitude in or using the place marker icon and zooming in to the exact location the user would like to use as the Geotag.
Note: Manual Geotags override any Automatic Geotags.
