Profile & Settings

Your APAN profile is how people will identify you within a group. Once you've registered, complete your APAN Profile.

  • Your profile includes your picture or avatar, a basic information section where you may include general, professional and contact information.
  • Completing your profile allows other users to learn more about you which could lead to valuable APAN connections. 
  • At minimum, if you're using APAN for an exercise or event, perhaps describe your role for those tasks.

Manage Your APAN Settings

There are a couple of ways to update your settings, based on what you are trying to do.

How do I change my profile settings?

  1. Click your avatar.
  2. Click Profile.  Your profile will appear.
  3. Click Edit Profile.
  4. Make the changes and updates you wish to make.
  5. Select Save Profile.

 How do I change my avatar or my profile picture? 

  1. Click your avatar.
  2. Click Profile.
  3. Click Edit Profile.
  4. Click Change over the current avatar.
  5. To change your avatar to a new image:
    1. Click Browse - select image.
    2. Click Upload and use image.
    3. Alternatively, click Select an avatar.
  6. To simply remove your avatar, click Remove avatar.
  7. Click Save profile.

How do I change my display name?

The display name is your identity on APAN; it is displayed on the top right of the page and where your identity is shown on within APAN. The display name on the other hand can be changed. By default, your username will be used as the display name, unless you update your Settings within your APAN Profile. 

  1. Click your avatar
  2. Profile.
  3. Click Edit Profile.
  4. Find your display name.  Place your cursor over your display name.  A grey outline will appear.
  5. Within the grey box, edit your display name.
  6. Save.
  7. Your display name may take awhile to show the change.  You may need to refresh the page.

 How do I update the time zone or date format?

  1. Click your avatar.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Locate the Timezone or Date Format dropdown.
  4. Select the appropriate Time Zone and Date Format you wish to update.
  5. Click Save.

 How do I change my tabs within my APAN Profile?

Your profile's tabs (activity, group, etc.) are set by default.  You cannot change these tabs unless you have permission.
