Delete a User Group

[toc]

Caution: APAN recommends that you do NOT delete any of the default APAN SharePoint groups, because this can make permissions unstable.

For instance, YOU CAN DELETE YOUR OWN ACCESS.  The next time you login, you will NOT be able to access your site.

  1. Click Settings
  2. Click Site settings. On some pages, you may need to click Site contents, then click Site settings.
  3. On the Site Settingspage, under Users and Permissions, click People and Groups.
  4. On the People and Groups page, click the name of the SharePoint group that you want to delete.
  5. Click Settings
  6. Click Group Settings.
  7. At the bottom of the Change Group Settings page, click Delete.
  8. In the confirmation window, click OK.

APAN BEST PRACTICE: You should only delete group(s) you have created and no longer want to use.  Do not delete the APAN default SharePoint Groups.
