Embed a Poll into a Post

Using this feature, a poll can be inserted into content with the Insert button on the Enhanced Text Editor.

To add a poll to content

  1. Create a piece of content, such as a blog post.
  2. In the text editor, click Insert > Insert Poll.
        
  3. The Insert Poll dialog box appears. With this dialog, you can create a poll and configure result viewing options.
    1. To create a poll:
      1. Select Poll from the Type drop-down list.
      2. Click the Create Poll tab.
      3. In the Question field, type the poll question.
      4. Optionally, add a description in the Description field.
      5. Add poll options in the Options area boxes ("Enter an option here.") With these fields, you can:
        1. Click Add option to create another poll option.
        2. Move an option up in the list by clicking the up arrow beside the option.
        3. Move an option down in the list by clicking the down arrow beside the option.
        4. Remove an option by clicking the remove button beside the option.
  4. To configure result viewing options:
    1. Click Configuration. The Configuration options appear.  If you want the poll to expire, select the expiration date on the calendar. Enter the expiration time in the Poll expiration field
    2. Select the result viewing option:
      1. Always - Displays the results to the user before a user has voted and afterward.
      2. After voting - Displays the result after a user has voted.
      3. After expires - Displays the results only after the expiration date and time.
  5. Click the Insert poll tab.
  6. Click Insert. The poll will be inserted into the text editor (but no preview is shown).
  7. Finish editing your document.
  8. Click Ok.

Voting

To vote for a poll option, select the desired poll option and click Vote.

View results

To see results, click View results.

User vote report

To view the User Vote Report, click User Vote Report.

 You must have appropriate permissions to view this report, which shows the vote of each voter.

Here, you can click on the poll to view it, or click the number of votes to see who voted for each option.
