Downloading an Adobe Connect Recording

[toc]

NOTE:  CUI approved communities MAY NOT record sessions on Adobe Connect. See the APAN CUI SOP for details.

Method 1

Start by opening your Adobe Connect room. Once open, click the room title to show a menu. From that menu, click “Manage Meeting Information.” This will launch the backend control panel for your Adobe Connect room.

Once open, click the “Recordings” tab.

Once the Recordings list is open, find the session recording you need to download. Click the “Actions” button and select “Make Offline – Standard View.”

This will launch your recorded session in the Adobe Connect application. You will need to let the session recording run for its entire length to download the recording. Click the button in the lower left corner titled “Start Recording.”

You will have the option to accept the default location on your hard drive for the download or change it. Once you have confirmed the location, click “Continue” for the download to commence.

The entire session will need to run for the recording to be downloaded.

Method 2

Login to APAN ( https://www.apan.org/), click on the 3x3 grid box in the upper right-hand corner > Connect > My Meetings > Hover over the white space to the right of the room name> Edit (pencil icon):

  1. Click the “Recordings” or ”Uploaded Content” tab
  2. Click on the underlined “Name” of the document or recording
  3. You will be redirected to another page
  4. Find the “URL for Viewing” section and copy the end of your URL
Example, URL for Viewing:     https://connect.apan.org/YOUR URL HERE/
*Do not click on the link in Adobe Connect !
  5. Paste the copied section of your URL in the highlighted section of the URL below:
          https://connect.apan.org/YOUR URL HERE/output/filename.zip?download=zip
  6. Paste the completed URL into a web browser to download your data.

Method for Multiple Recordings

How to download multiple recordings simultaneously:

"Offliner" is an Adobe application that allows you to download multiple recordings simultaneously. Please note that the application only works on Windows and you must have install privileges on your computer.

  1. Download Offliner using a Windows computer at: https://adobe.com/go/OfflineRecodingApp.
  2. Provide APAN login information.
  3. Copy and paste the recording URL into the "Enter Recording URL" section.
  4. *Steps to find your recording's URL can be found above in the "Method 2" section.
  5. Click "Start," and the videos will begin playing as they are converted to MP4.
  6. At the top of the application, under "Folders for storing generated MP4," is the location where the completed recordings will be stored.
  7. Once the videos have been downloaded, remove them from the list by right-clicking and selecting "delete."

If you add new videos without removing the completed ones, they will be downloaded again.
