Upload Files

From the Group Home Page:

  1. Navigate to the group home page.
  2. Select New and choose the appropriate gallery (if multiple galleries exist).
  3. In the upload window:
    • Add a file and select your file.
    • Fill in details: Name, Description (use the enhanced text editor), and Tags (use commas, no spaces).
    • Optional: Enable Notify me when someone comments.
  4. Click Post.

From the Gallery Home Page:

  1. Open the gallery.
  2. Select New and upload files as above.

Upload Multiple Files (Drag and Drop)

  1. Open the gallery in your browser.
  2. Drag files into the Description section.
  3. Click Post.

Edit a Media Gallery Post (uploaded file)

  1. Go to the group gallery containing the post.
  2. Click the post to open, then click More > Edit (located near the bottom of the screen).
  3. Make your changes and save the page.

Change an Uploaded File

  1. Navigate to the file post.
  2. Click More > Edit.
  3. Click Change file and select a new file.
  4. Click Post.

Remove a File Upload

  1. Navigate to the file post.
  2. Click More > Edit.
  3. Click Remove file, then click Post.

Media Gallery Settings

  1. Go to the desired media gallery.
  2. Mouse over Management (pencil icon in the upper left corner) and click Manage Gallery.
  3. Adjust the settings in the Gallery Options panel:
    • Name: Set a descriptive title.
    • Web Address: Letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores only.
    • Description: Brief text (HTML markup not allowed).
    • Owners: Assign gallery owners if different from Group Owners
    • Group: Set the gallery location.
    • Enable Media Gallery: Set to Yes for visibility.
    • File view type: Choose List or Thumbnails.
  4. Click Save to apply changes.

Best Practices

  • Organization: Design your file organization before uploading files. Decide how many Media Galleries to use and the folder hierarchy within each Media Gallery. Design first, then build the Media Gallery applications you need and add folders as needed.
  • Engagement: Enable and moderate comments for interaction and feedback.
  • Maintenance: Update and review posts periodically to keep content relevant.
