Lasers and Optics

Objective

This program is focused on Optical Sciences. Focus areas center on Laser materials for high power lasers – transparent ceramics, sesquioxide materials and fiber lasers. Close interaction with AFRL Technical Directorates (RY, RD and RV) guides the focus and ensures relevance of this portfolio to the Air Force. There is also great interest, participation and funding with DoD partners from the Navy, Army and HEL/JTO.
