Test and Evaluation Research Opportunities Workshop - 26-28 June 2012 | Edwards AFB, CA

Information

The Test and Evaluation (T&E) Program at the Air Force Office of Scientific Research has implemented several new initiatives aimed at introducing students and faculty to T&E activities at Air Force test centers. These initiatives involve sponsorship of research activities at the centers by faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates that result in conference presentations and journal publications.

The workshops are intended to provide an opportunity for faculty and administrators to become familiar with test center resources, facilities, and operations and to discuss areas of interest with test center personnel. Research funding sources will be indentified and explained, including grants through AFOSR, Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Broad Agency Announcements (BAA) through AFOSR and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and other programs such as the Summer Faculty Fellowship Program (SFFP) and National Security Science and Engineering Faculty Fellowships (NSSEFF).

In addition to research activities, university administrators may be interested in employment opportunities for graduates as well. The Department of Defense relies on the process of Research and Development Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) for transitioning technologies out of research laboratories and employs a large number of scientists and engineers in this process.  Test center recruiters and employment specialists will be participating and presenting as part of the workshop agenda.

This three day events will include presentations, discussion panels and facility visits. 26-28 June 2012, Edwards Air Force Base, California
